Control valves

Control valves are fittings or valves which control and monitor liquids and gases in pipelines and industrial facilities. These control valves include, for example, pressure regulators, steam traps, safety valves or pressure gauges.

Pressure reducing valves are industrial valves whose purpose is to reduce or limit the inlet pressure to the desired outlet pressure. Pressure reducing valves consist of a housing in which a membrane and counter springs are incorporated. The inlet pressure acts on the membrane from the inlet side. On the other side of the membrane, compressed air or counter springs act which can be regulated and adjusted to the desired pressure. The pressure reducer is closed tighter or less tightly depending on the pressure on the input side. When the set pressure is reached, the diaphragm closes the flow completely. If the pressure reducer is damaged or cannot be closed completely, the outlet pressure may become too high. In this case, the safety valve protects the downstream system from damage by opening and venting. Starting from an outlet pressure of 1 bar, it is possible to use a piston as pressure sensor in the pressure reducer instead of the membrane. This allows a very compact design of the pressure reducer. Pressure reducing valves are available with DIN and ANSI flange connection, welding ends, welding sockets or threaded connection.

A steam trap automatically drains condensate from steam lines. This ensures a more effective use of energy in the steam line system. Steam traps are divided into float traps, bimetal steam traps and diaphragm-capsule steam traps. Their difference can be found in their mode of operation. Float steam traps have a float ball that separates wet steam into water and steam. A bimetallic steam trap, on the other hand, has bimetallic plates in front of the shut-off nozzle that expand at a sufficient temperature and close the shut-off nozzle almost completely to drain off the condensate. This allows the steam to pass through the steam trap and separate it from the water. As the name suggests, membrane capsule steam traps have a membrane. This membrane opens automatically when sufficient condensate has accumulated in the steam trap and closes again after it has been drained. The steam, free of condensate, can be passed on unhindered. We calculate for you which steam trap is suitable for your plant and your applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical or power engineering industries. We will be happy to check your existing steam traps - on site if required. Whether float steam traps, bimetal steam traps, diaphragm capsule steam traps, vaposcopes or steam trap control devices - all products are available with DIN and ANSI flange connections, butt weld ends, socket weld ends or threaded connections.

Safety valves protect pressurized rooms or pressure vessels (e.g. steam boilers, pressure vessels, pipelines, transport vessels) from an inadmissible increase in pressure that would damage the connected pressure equipment. Safety valves discharge gases, vapours or liquids into the atmosphere or blow-down systems when the set pressure is exceeded. The valve then closes again and the system can continue to operate. A safety valve should be installed in any closed circuit that is heated. For example, in water heating systems, collector circuits and all directly or indirectly heated circuits. Safety valves are divided into proportional safety valves, full stroke safety valves and standard safety valves depending on their response behaviour. With proportionally controlled safety valves, the opening behaviour between response pressure pset and complete opening of the safety valve (1.1 pset) is proportional. Safety valves with full stroke open on response, direct and full. Normal safety valves react proportionally up to a pressure increase of 10% and above this these safety valves open completely with a full stroke. Many factors are required to find the correct safety valve for the correct application. For the sake of simplicity, the medium, operating temperature, mass flow to be discharged, inlet and back pressure as well as set pressure are required for a fast and safe design. We will be pleased to help you.

Pressure gauges are pressure measuring instruments which measure and display the pressure of the medium such as liquids or gas. The type of pressure gauge is determined, for example, by the area of application, such as the pressure range or the measuring method. In our product range you will find a very large selection of Bourdon tube pressure gauges, Capsule tube pressure gauges and the corresponding accessories. Housing diameters from 40 mm to 250 mm with bottom or rear connection are possible. However, the quality of the pressure gauge is ultimately determined by its precision. We offer pressure gauges in the accuracy classes 0.6, 1.0 and 1.6.

We will be happy to help you select the right control valves for your process. Whether pressure reducers, steam traps, safety valves or pressure gauges, DIN and ANSI flange connections, welding ends, welding sleeves or threaded connections. We provide you with individual and tailor-made advice so that you get exactly the right valves for your application.
