Wedge gate valves Type A-KFI410 - PN10 - spheroidal cast iron GGG 40

Description

The ACI short pattern wedge gate valves series A-KFI-410 are intended as pure stop valves, especially for use in water and waste water applications. They are not suited for control operation. The gate valves are equipped with an internal, non-rising stem. The wedge itself is rubber-coated. The main advantage of these gate valves is their full, straight opening, also they are available in a scrapable edition.

The short pattern wedge gate valves of type A-KFI-410 are available in nominal sizes from DN 40 to DN 2000.

Design and manufacturing of the valves is performed according to DIN EN 1074, replacing the previous standard DIN 3352-4A. The face to face dimensions are defined by EN 558-1 Series 14 (previously DIN 3202-F4).

Gate valves are used for liquid media like water and waste water, which can also contain non-abrasive solids and fibres. The medium must not contain abrasive contents! The permissible operating pressure over the full range of nominal sizes is 16 bar, depending on the operating temperature. Depending on the material used for the wedge coating, the maximum operating temperature is +70°C or up to +120°C.

Testing for pressure and tightness is performed according to DIN EN 12266. The gate valves are tight in both flow directions.

In accordance with the European Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU, the gate valves are tested for pressure resilience. The test is performed according to EN 1074 and EN 12266 using room temperature water. The valve body is tested using 1.5-fold nominal pressure, the seat leakage test is performed with 1.1-fold nominal pressure.

The gate valve body is made of spheroidal cast iron GGG40 / EN-GJS-400-15. Corrosion protection is achieved inside and outside according to GSK directives using an Epoxy coating with at least 250µm layer thickness. Increased layer thickness is also available on request. This makes the ACI short pattern wedge gate valves type A-KFI-410 suitable for underground installation. The wedge is soft sealing, vulcanised with EPDM or NBR. The non-rising stem is made of stainless steel 1.4021 / X20Cr13. On request, the stem can be manufactured from 1.4571 or other alloys. It is sealed using O rings made of NBR or EPDM and almost maintenance free. Other materials like Viton (FKM) are also available.

These gate valves are delivered by default with flanged connections, according to DIN EN 1092-1 pressure rating PN10 or PN16, with sealing faces type B1. On request, connections for PN6 or PN25 are also available. The connection flanges can also be manufactured according to other standards, like ASME B16.5 or JIS. Just contact us for details!

Generally, the ACI wedge gate valves series A-KFI 410 are manually operated using a handwheel, gearbox or chain wheel. On request, we automate the valves using electrical actuators (with and without control system), pneumatic actuators or hydraulic actuators. If a remote feedback is needed, inductive or mechanical limit switches are also available to signal the valve position to the main control panel.
