Description

ACI wedge gate valves series A-KOI-416 are specifically intended for water and waste water applications with solid contents. They have a full, smooth opening and are available as a scrapable design. The stem is internal, non-rising and has a maintenance free seal. Like all wedge gate valves, they are pure stop valves and not suited for control valve applications.

Wedge gate valves type A-KOI-416 are available in nominal sizes from DN40 to DN400. We can offer special designs for larger sizes on request.

The design and manufacturing of the gate valves is done according to DIN EN 1074, replacing the previous standard DIN 3352-4B. Face to face dimensions are defined in EN 558-1 Series 15 (previously DIN 3202-F5).

Applications for these gate valves include liquid media like water and waste water with solid contents. The flow medium must not contain abrasive particles to prevent damage to the rubberized wedge. The Operating pressure of 16 bar is valid for all sizes, and depends on the operating temperature. Due to the rubber wedge coating, the highest allowable operating temperature is +70°C respectively +120°C.

The gate valves are tested for pressure and leakage according to DIN EN 12266 and can be used for both flow directions.

The pressure test is subjected within the legal framework of the European Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU, using room temperature water at 1.5-fold nominal pressure for the valve body and 1.1-fold nominal pressure for the valve wedge.

The wedge gate valves are manufactured from spheroidal cast iron GGG40 / EN-GJS-400-15, optionally GGG50. According to GSK directives, the inside and outside of the valves are coated with EPOXY of at least 250µm layer thickness, providing sufficient corrosion protection for most applications. Thicker coating layers are available if requested. As a standard gate valve, they are suitable for water and waste water, as well as underground installation. The wedge is vulcanised with NBR or EPDM, the stem is made of 1.4021 / X20Cr13. On request, a stem of 1.4571 or other alloys is also available. The stem seal is nearly maintenance free using O-rings of NBR or EPDM. Other materials like Viton (FKM) are optionally available.

The default flange connection is executed according to DIN EN 1092-1 PN16, with sealing faces type B1. Different connection flanges according to ASME, JIS or other standards are available on request. Contact us for details!

The ACI wedge gate valves of series A-KOI-416 are operated manually using a handwheel, gearbox or chain wheel. We can also offer automated gate valves using electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic actuators. For remote control and feedback, inductive or mechanical limit switches can be installed to signal the valve position to the main control panel.
