The ACI small gate valves type A-KLS-540 close tightly in both flow directions against the full operating pressure. The stem is external and rising. Like all wedge gate valves, they are only suitable for complete opening or closing of the passage and cannot be used for flow control.
The technical basis for the manufacture of the wedge gate valves type A-KLS-540 is EN 1984 (replacement for the former DIN 3352). The overall length corresponds to DIN EN 558-1 series 1 (for gate valves DN 15 to DN 40) and series 26 (for gate valves in DN 50).
Each gate valve is subjected to a pressure and tightness test in accordance with the Pressure Equipment Directive. The test conditions are specified in DIN EN 12266 as follows: in the body, the gate valves are pressed with 1.5 times the nominal pressure and in the seat with 1.1 times the nominal pressure, the test medium is water at room temperature.
These gate valves are used for non-aggressive liquids, gas and steam.
The maximum permissible operating pressure is 40 bar and depends on the respective operating temperature. The pressure/temperature gradation is specified in EN 1092-1. The permissible temperature range is between -10°C and +400°C.
The ACI small gate valves are made of forged steel P250GH / A105, other materials are available.
The sealing in the passage is made by sealing rings made of stainless steel, at least 13% Cr. The standard material for the stem is 1.4021. The spindle is sealed by an adjustable stuffing box.
After commissioning, the stuffing box must be checked and retightened if necessary. This check must also be carried out within the regular maintenance intervals. The stuffing box packing and the cover seal between the housing and the upper part are usually made of graphite.
The connecting flanges of the gate valves are drilled to PN 40 in accordance with DIN EN 1092-1 with sealing faces Form B1. Other flange holes are also available, for example according to ASME B16.5, BS, JIS,...
The gate valves of the A-KLS series are supplied with a handwheel. A version with gear and chain wheel is also possible. If desired, we can also automate our gate valves with electric, pneumatic or hydraulic drives. If individual operation and monitoring of the drives on site or from the control room is required, we will equip the drives accordingly: with motor control, PROFIBUS connection, etc...
