Product information

The ACI sight glass type 338 for welding in or on is suitable for visual inspection in containers for pressures up to 16 barg. The sight glass enables reliable monitoring of the fill level with a visibility width of 50 mm. 

The fitting is equipped with a sight glass plate made of high-quality borosilicate glass similar to DIN 7081 (or according to customer requirements). This is securely framed between seals and tightly screwed in place to ensure permanent tightness and high pressure resistance.

Standardly, the sight glass type 338 is made of stainless steel 1.4571 (316Ti) – a material that is characterized by high corrosion resistance and durability. Upon request, the version is also available in many other materials, tailored to specific requirements and applications.

The sealing of the fitting is done with flat seals tailored to your needs from a wide range of materials. In addition to the common fiber-based seals, it also offers more sophisticated materials such as PTFE (Teflon®), NBR, novaphit® MST-XP, KlingerSil® C4400, and many other branded seals.

If the maximum operating temperature of borosilicate glass DIN 7081 does not meet your requirements or if the process conditions pose a problem for the highly resistant Borosilicate glass, a mica protective disk specially adapted for the fitting provides additional protection against temperature and steam. FEP or Halar® coatings further protect the Borosilicate glass from aggressive chemicals or lyes.
