Oval wedge gate valve Type A-KOI216 - PN16 - GG-25

Wedge gate valves Type A-KOI-216 are built in nominal sizes from DN40 to DN2000. Their design follows the definitions of DIN EN 1074 / EN 1171, previously DIN 3352. EN 558-1 Series 15 (previously DIN 3202-F5) defines the face to face dimensions.

Possible applications include liquid or gaseous media without fibrous or abrasive particles. The highest allowable operating temperature for these gate valves is 150°C. Depending on the operating temperature, the gate valves are suitable for up to 16 bar of operating pressure.

Each gate valve is tested for pressure resilience and leakage after assembly, according to DIN EN 12266 / 1074. Valve body test pressure is 1.5-fold nominal operating pressure, the leakage test is performed with 1.1-fold nominal pressure.

The default body material is grey cast iron GG-25, new identifier EN-GJL 250. Other materials, like spheroidal cast iron GGG40 / EN-GJS-400-15 are available on request. The body and wedge seats are made of brass, the stem of stainless steel 1.4021 / X20Cr13. The stem seal is either a gland seal, which needs to be tightened periodically, or a maintenance free O-Ring seal. The gland seal is usually made of graphite, the O-rings of NBR or EPDM.

Because these gate valves are manufactured from grey cast iron EN-GJL-250, they are only available with flanged connections. Default flange pattern is PN 16 according to DIN EN 1092-1 with sealing faces type B1. Sizes 200 and higher are optionally available with flange drilling according to PN 10.

Flange patterns according to other standards, like ASME B16.5 or JIS, are also available.

Gate Valves Type A-KOI-216 in grey cast iron (GG-25) are delivered with a manual wheel actuator by default.
